Good to see a few of the Dinos out at the senior match with their offspring.  I didn't hear about any cars getting broke into or anything like that so they must have kept them muzzled.  Looks like all roads will lead to the old Garngad on 17th May for the Dinos Race Night.  Don't bring the car with you unless you are looking for an insurance payout.

The debate between who should run the club, the camogs or the Dinos, should be resolved on the field of play.  I propose a game over two legs in two codes.  The first leg is camogie at Glasgow Green and the second leg is dominoes in the Braemar afterwards.  Should be a good fund-raiser for the club and will certainly draw a crowd.   The money could be split between the camogs, mini harps and st.john's ambulance service as a donation for the work they will be doing on the day.

Johnny Cash, a GAA legend!  I hear that the Ring of Fire is actually the anthem of the Keltic Dinosaurs.  Apparently, it goes back to the morning after one of their sect meetings, which involved copious consumption of cheap wine in a Gallowgate hostelry followed by out of date kebabs and curry at a nearby greasy spoon, which apparently burned them up a little inside and even more so on the old lavvy pan.
Should be a good night in the Braemar .  I'll be there!

I finally see that my last entry was accepted!!!! I feel as though I have now got the Papal Seal of Approval, so here goes on a retort to the blasphemy that some have been printing........

The flowers thing is a twice annual thing wi the "insignificant other"! It's not as if this type of act is rewarded, but if it were to be terminated, I feel that life wouldn't be worth living. As a reward for this faithful monotony, I have since become an online poker legend, such is the amount of time we spend together.

With this honest revelation, I am sure to break the belief that I am a let down to the "men" of the club!!!

I would, however, like to take the opportunity to thank the faithful who have stood by me over the past few weeks while unable to defend myself, particularly the stalwart of The Dinos - Big Manny, my trusted comrade.

A big congrats to the A.S.U who took the time out to go for the Midas training. I would like to apologise for my absense, but when it comes to aiding with double incontenence and feeding the starving of Parkhead, in the words of the Great Brother Beyond.... (He) It Ain't No Competition. I will be taking the opportunity next time - so don't have a go at the present day disciple of the Lord - for he who casts the first stone, blah blah!!!!!
So until next time, Don Salute and be good to each other.

I am proud to be the first person to post a comment on the much anticipated arrival of the new club mini bus.  Long serving members will be aware there has always been a history shall we say of incidents around previous vehicles owned by the club.  My concern this time stems from the fact that the first users are the camogs!  Who sanctioned this?  Are any of them Midas trained?  Sounds like the journey of death if you ask me.  All the way to Birmingham and back.  They are having a laugh.  Does the insurance company know ?  Is the bus even insured to carry the likes of them and their sticks?  The people should be told and I am the man to find out.

Having spoken to many people over the last few weeks it has been decided that having a buffet is probably not a good idea considering that we would have to sell tickets beforehand and make sure that only the people with tickets get in to our own wee area in Osmosis. As this is a night where we want all adult members of the club to be able to join in, we felt it was best to forget about the food and use Osmosis from 8pm - 12 midnight for drinks alone (Remember the 25% discount - sure food would just get in the way!). I am in the process of trying to organise for all of us to get into O'Neill's music rooms in Sauchiehall St. after Osmosis. When I hear back from them I will let you know. I think the night would be rounded off well if we all had a nightclub to go to that we would be guarenteed entry to. Any comments/ideas let me know. Did I hear mention of a dance-off, as reigning champion I say "Bring it on".

A bit of info' here which will be of particular interest for those of the Donegal persusion given their renowned adherence to fiscal  control of their personal budgets.  There is a new playstation gaa game coming out.  Way out your league I know to squander money on, but the original game is now avaialble on most of the game websites for a pearl diver  (£5) .  This provides you with an opportunity to pass this off as fairly expensive gift for some luckles niece/nephew,  brother or sister (which in some cases up there is the same thing) at Christmas time.

TCH Christmas Night Out
Date
23.10.07
comment
Hi everyone, my name is Adrian Diver, most of you know me but for those of you who don't, I'm a senior footballer for the club. It is fair to say that the senior footballers don't really pull their weight within the club (apart from Anton). For this reason, I have decided to take it upon myself to organise this years TCH Christmas night out. I would like to canvass opinions from every sector of the club as to how I should organise this event. James Kelly has agreed to set aside an area within his bar Osmosis on Jamica St. that could hold about 40 of us. We would have the area (which includes a pool table and numerous seats and tables)from 8 until whenever we want, he has agreed to stay open until 3am if we wish him to. He has also agreed to organise a buffet to be brought in, which would cost us about £10 a head, unfortunately the club will not be able to pay for this so if we want a buffet then we would have to pay the £10 a head and this would need to be paid before the agreed date for the party which at the moment is penciled in for Saturday December 8th. If that date doesn't suit you please let me know by leaving a message on this site. James has also agreed to give every member of TCH a 25% discount for our drinks. I have spoken to Grace McBride who has agreed to help me out in terms of getting in touch with all the camogs and I have also spoke to Christine Aitken who has agreed to help me out in terms of getting in touch with the ladies team. I have spoken to at least 15 of the seniors and all are going to go and I have at least 6 more to get in touch with so I think we will hit the 40 mark without any problems, so it should be a good night out. Our options are:

(A) Go to osmosis for 8, have a buffet there for £10 a head and stay there til 3am.

(B) Go to osmosis for 8, have no food, so no payment required and stay there til 3am

(C) Go to osmosis for 8, have a buffet there for £10 a head and stay there til 12am and then go elsewhere (either a club, which will be difficult to get 40 of us into or Moskito where I can guarentee we will all get into and will be open til 3am.

(D) Go to osmosis for 8, don't have the buffet so no payment required and leave there at 12am to go to a club or moskito.

Please let me know your opinions. I think a night out for TCH would do the club a lot of good, we don't have enough nights out and I would really like everyone to enjoy themselves so please let me know what suits you. Also if you know anyone who runs a club or is a bouncer in a club and might be able to organise that 40 of us could get in then let me know.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm disgusted with all this carry on on the guestbook just now. It's gone beyond the joke or friendly banter that it normally is, to being seriously nasty!!! There's a time and a place for discussions and public view is not it! I'm sure Roisin will be holding a women's committee meeting to tie up any loose ends from the weekend and if there are any suggestions or fine tuning needed so that next years festival is an even bigger success then that's the place do it!
As it stands, if someone who didn't attend the festival was reading this they'd think the weekend was a disaster and that none of us even get on at all; where in fact, nothing could be further from the truth.
Last weekend was a great success and I for 1 look forward to helping out again next year.

There is no argument here at all. The seniors are a joke and should stick to what they know best; sheep and whatever it is they like doing with them, the "ladies" football team is a joke and since some of them resemble animals, i wouldnt be suprised they had their tails wagging after the seniors. Sad and desperate! Start concentrating on the sport and you might get somewhere.

I'd hardly call getting to the final of a Gaelic championship in which there are only 3 teams competing glory hunting. And from what I can see the only reason the gaelic girls can ever field a team at all is if the camogs help them out. Most of them are better players at a sport that they don't even enjoy. You are in danger of becoming extinct drama queen cos you don't recruit or make an effort to anyone who does happen to chance upon training. As a failed footballer with the senior mens team perhaps i'm not the best person to join in this debate.  I went to training before the team packed it in and turned out for most games.  Apart from that I havn't contributed anything to the club.  I know Grace does a lot of work as club secretary but what do the rest of you do?  same as me I guess make a big effort for my team but don't get involved in anything else.

Talk about fair play? What I said is accurate and true. At the end I put a bit of banter about make-up as in spending time on yourself rather than club but I never said any of you were ugly. Saying the camogs are ugly shows how truly catty, small-minded and bitchy the person who put that comment on is. There are some good-looking girls in both teams, maybe you are jealous? No wonder people start off at gaelic training and desent to our team! Maybe ur not the most welcoming person. Sportslike I've never seen any of our team come off for as little during the gaelic "championship". And we never argue with referees ever (unless ur Catherine in which case she knows the rule better than ad hoc refs). We accept that sometimes we r being beaten fairly unlike u. As to not knowing about jobs, thre was a meeting on the Wed night when y'all were having drinks, no apologies and one footballer turned up. Oh and e-mails went out well in advance with the schedule and stuff that needed doing. Get a grip. Looking forward to next mixed match, I love the score-line.

Can't we all celebrate the fact that there was a very sucessful Women's Festival and not decend into the kind of comment that is best left to a face to face discussion rather than slugging it out for every casual viewer to read.

Fair play Camog anonymous, that's really sports like, kick the footballers while their down!!! In case you hadn't noticed the existence of the football team seems to be in danger at present and if they can't manage to get all the glory hunters who togged for the final against Glasgow to show up to play for them on Sunday then giving them digs about the rest of the weekend is hardly helping!!!
As for the door on Sat nyt, surely something like that would have been organised prior to the nyt in question anyway!
And as for the make-up...yer only jealous cos no amount of make-up could help yer ugly mugs!!!

Not being unjust or anything but it was well seen that the so-called Womens festival seemed to be run by the Camogs. Although the camogs helped out the other girls on the Sunday only two of the girls' footballers turned up to help on The Saturday and they are the two that play for the camogs as well. Also am sure the camogs would have liked shorter shifts on the door on Saturday night but no help was forthcoming. Prob too busy in the toilets re-applying their layers of make-up, miaow!

I notice the recent  campaign in Ireland to raise the profile of camogie.  'chicks with sticks' I think they called it.  They used two fairly fetching and comely young maidens to front a media and press campaign.  Surely our club development officer should be thinking big on this issue and using the undoubted talents we have in our team to do something similar here at community level.  I was thinking we could get a couple of the glesga bruisers in our squad to front something similar around the housing estates of Glasgow.  The slogan would have to be something like 'chavs wae chibs'  or 'harridans with helmets.'

The quiz master was the worst person I've ever had to endure listening to!!! He was so boring that the club should just hold a let's watch paint dry night! We'd make the same amount of money without having to put up with his terrible jokes that only he found funny!

Did we ever have hunky seniors? I thought the Camogs were the only beauties in the Club-then again haven't seen any these men wearing the infamous skorts-maybe they would suit them better than the shorts!!

I notice that Heffo the most famous GAA  imposter ever is back on the guest book again.  I thought he was sectioned ?  It has got me thinking though.  This is one for the footballers and camogs who have been around since the early days.  I was wondering if members views on the worst players ever to wear the green and gold, probably not just in the playing sense.  For instance yer man Damo who was not only the greatest player ever to come out of Dublin  (if only the Dubs selectors could see it) but a major imbecile and fantasist on and off the field.  In these days of political correctness and child protection it maybe wouldn’t be the right thing to single out children who have been censored, but I am sure there a plethora of players we can all remember who couldn’t kick their censored or swing a rope never mind a hurley stick.

Heffo is by far my favourite.  Is there anyone out there can remember his debut ?  That was the time he had to drop out of the warm up because he was knackered.  Further back there was a wee Dublin guy from the east end who was on the fringes of the team for a fortnight.  A few roastings from then team captain Mick Dempsey did little to improve his confidence or ability. I think he was released from the club on compassionate grounds.  There was another guy whose name escapes me played about two years ago.  A Donegal guy built like the side of a house with a face that looked as though it was carved out of concrete, but  rather disappointedly for the then manager Big Nose, he pranced around the forward line like a ballerina and couldn’t catch a ball if you handed it to him.

The camogs can't help it if they are in demand. They wouldn't be adverse to a hunky senior team so start recruiting.
